Junior Maintenance Technician
Are you someone who enjoys figuring out how things work, fixing things with your hands, and learning new skills? WonderWorks Destiny is looking for a hands-on, mechanically inclined individual to join our Maintenance Team as an Entry-Level Maintenance Technician.
In this role, you will help keep our attraction, equipment, games, and facilities operating safely and efficiently. This is a great opportunity for someone with basic mechanical or technical knowledge who is looking to build their skills in a unique amusement and entertainment environment.
What You'll Do
- Perform routine maintenance, inspections, adjustments, and basic repairs on attraction equipment, games, and facility equipment.
- Assist with troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues.
- Help maintain and repair arcade games, small amusement equipment, and other mechanical systems.
- Perform general building and facility maintenance, including basic plumbing, carpentry, painting, and repairs.
- Use hand and power tools safely and properly.
- Follow preventative maintenance schedules and complete maintenance documentation.
- Identify potential equipment or facility issues and communicate them to the Maintenance team.
- Assist with keeping equipment, work areas, and the facility clean and organized.
- Follow all company safety procedures and applicable equipment safety requirements.
- Learn and develop new mechanical, electrical, and maintenance skills through hands-on training.
What We're Looking For
- Previous maintenance, mechanical, construction, automotive, HVAC, electrical, or technical experience is helpful but not required.
- Basic understanding of mechanical systems, tools, and equipment.
- Comfortable using or learning to use hand and power tools.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Mechanically inclined with a desire to understand how things work and how to fix them.
- Ability to follow instructions, safety procedures, and maintenance schedules.
- Reliable, dependable, and willing to work as part of a team.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced entertainment environment.
- Willingness to learn—we can teach the right person the attraction-specific equipment and systems.
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Technical school, vocational training, or coursework in mechanical, electrical, automotive, HVAC, or a related field is a plus.
- Entry-level candidates and recent technical school graduates are encouraged to apply.
Physical Requirements
This position requires the ability to:
- Stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and work in various positions throughout the facility.
- Lift and carry equipment and materials as needed.
- Work from ladders or elevated areas when necessary.
- Work in areas that may be noisy, warm, or confined.
- Work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and evenings, based on attraction operating needs.
