Exhibits Attendants concentrate on the safety of our guests and creating memorable experiences for them while visiting our park. Exhibits Attendants are responsible for interacting with guests, operating intricate attractions, and maintaining company values.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Ability to explain and operate all exhibits in a safe manner
  • Prolong standing and walking to various areas of the attraction
  • Welcome, greet, and engage with guests in the assigned area (i.e. Disaster Zone, Virtual Coaster, Bed of Nails, etc.) while answering questions and providing information as appropriate
  • Follow the checklist for required duties and timelines
  • Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the Exhibits department as directed by the immediate lead or manager
  • Refer guest complaints and/or incidents to the Manager on Duty
  • Maintain exhibit appearance and cleanliness according to WonderWorks standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned
COMPLEXITY OF WORK: Semi-routine; majority of work covered by established procedures.

RELATIONSHIPS OUTSIDE WORK UNIT:  Exchange of information which occasionally requires tact and/or diplomacy.

REGULAR ATTENDANCE is required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:   High school diploma or GED is preferred.  Experience in hospitality or related field preferred.  One year experience in guest service position required or equivalent combination of education and experience.

ON-THE-JOB TRAINING: 40 hours of on the job training is provided for this position.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:  Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:  Ability to add and subtract in all units of measure, using whole numbers and decimals. 

REASONING ABILITY:  Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:  Possess excellent verbal communication skills.  Be comfortable working indoors and standing for long periods of time.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly, (2/3 or more of the time) required to stand, walk, talk or hear, and use hands to finger, handle or feel objects tools or control, balance, stoop, kneel, reach with hands and arms.  The employee is frequently (1/3 to 2/3 of time) required to climb or crouch or crawl.  

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
                                                                               
Specific vision abilities required by this job include:  Specific vision abilities required by this job include: Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less); Distance Vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more); Color Vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors); Peripheral Vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point); Depth Perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships); Ability to Adjust Focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus).

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently (1/3 to 2/3 of the time) exposed to work near moving mechanical parts.  The employee is occasionally (up to 1/3 of the time) exposed to outdoor weather conditions and vibrations. 

While performing this job, the noise level in the work environment is: Moderate Noise (Examples:  business office with typewriters and/or computer printer, light traffic)
